An Introduction: No Look, Howzit!

Starting this blog has taken me a while. I struggled for ages trying to figure out where to begin and how to go about this. I decided an introductory post is as good a place as any to start, so here it is! Welcome to my blog!

Cape Town, Bainskloof. Augrabies, Kosi Bay. This is me , usually with a camera, sometimes with a smile :)

I’m in a very privileged position that allows me abundant travel to genuinely unique and beautiful places. It would be a waste not to share some of that with my friends and family, and maybe even a wider audience.

So this is my first post, to say howzit and introduce myself. My name is Rogan and I'm a filmmaker based in Cape Town. My line of work has afforded me many wonderful travel experiences. I’ve decided that it’s time to put these to good use and start a platform where I can impart a little of what I’ve seen, what I’ve done and who I’ve met.

You can expect severe inconsistencies with the content I post. Some posts might be about a place, while others might be about a habitat type or specific animal species. Sometimes I’ll post stuff straight after visiting a location and other times it will be done in great retrospect (it all depends how soon I get to editing my photos!)

I welcome comments, suggestions and criticisms… But try to be nice. Like I said, I’m no expert writer/photographer, but I’m always keen to learn and to try to improve my skills. Hopefully I can rummage up a bit of inspiration for my readers to get out discover new things, and different places.

We live in a wonderful world and if we can take any opportunity to travel and explore, even if it’s just to one town over (or even one street), we can learn a lot from the other earthlings that share these precious spaces with us.
